FAQ
Q. What types of stone do you work with?
A. We work with a wide variety of natural stones including Granite, Marble, Quartzite, Soapstone, Onyx, Travertine, and Limestone. We also fabricate and install engineered quartz slabs from leading manufacturers.
Q. How do I choose the right stone for my project?
A. Each stone type has unique characteristics in terms of durability, maintenance, and appearance. Granite and quartzite are extremely durable and great for high-traffic kitchens. Marble offers timeless elegance but requires more care. Soapstone develops a beautiful patina over time. We recommend visiting a local showroom to view slabs in person, and our team is always happy to guide you through the selection process.
Q. How long does a typical countertop project take?
A. From template to installation, most residential projects take about 1–2 weeks. After your stone is selected, we schedule an onsite measure-up, fabricate your countertops in our shop, and then install them. Larger or more complex projects may take additional time.
Q. Do you do onsite measurements?
A. Yes! We schedule an onsite measure-up of your project to ensure precise dimensions and a perfect fit. This is done after cabinetry is installed and ready. Contact us to schedule your appointment.
Q. What is the difference between granite and quartz?
A. Granite is a natural stone quarried from mountains around the world — each slab is unique with its own colors and patterns. Quartz (engineered stone) is manufactured using natural quartz crystals combined with resins, offering a more uniform appearance. Both are excellent choices; granite offers one-of-a-kind beauty while quartz provides consistency and requires no sealing.
Q. Do natural stone countertops need to be sealed?
A. Most natural stones like granite and marble benefit from periodic sealing to protect against staining. We recommend sealing upon installation and then annually depending on usage. Engineered quartz does not require sealing.
Q. Do you serve other areas than chico?
